It Feels Like a Snow Day!

After waking up at 6 this morning to help shovel my parents out of the driveway I have decided today is a hot coco, warm shower, curl up with a book kind of day. Which really means it’s an update everyone on Parkinsons Fitness kind of day.

Other than snuggling under the covers today we are extending invitations to prospective board members and fine tuning our program. We have added agility ladder work and plan on doing more fun obstacle courses and games for next week.

Stay happy and healthy,

   Julia

Montreal Reflection

Montreal is a beautiful city that this weekend was filled with amazing, brave and inspirational people with Parkinson’s Disease. Milling around looking at what different groups are doing for those with PD you would hear the sounds of boxing and singing as well as people sharing their stories. It was an emotional and powerful experience to see people come together around a cause and support each other.

We can’t wait for the next Congress in Oregon!

Parkinson’s Fitness Enters the Internet!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to our Parkinson’s Fitness page! We are a small non-profit dedicated to fighting Parkinson’s Disease through fitness. We have big dreams but have started small with a fitness class at the Marblehead, MA Community Center for people with Parkinson’s. It is lead by a fitness instructor who has Parkinson’s and its a community of people working towards a better quality of life. All are welcome to join and attend, we have class: Monday 1:30-3 at the Marblehead Community Center: http://www.marblehead.org/index.aspx?NID=84

We were started by Keith and Linda Hall after Keith was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and decided to take his care into his own hands. Being the fitness and sports lover he was before the disease he was pleased to learn that further fitness can actually help those with Parkinson’s regain some of their quality of life. Since then, they have started and grown Parkinson’s Fitness to where we are now.
